About the role
Ventia is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Field Technician with skills to facilitate a range of environmental and contaminated land projects. You will be working on projects in Metro Melbourne and when required regional Victoria.
The role will assist in the delivery of a range of field work tasks, primarily the role will involve collecting field data on fuel sites across Victoria as part of national compliance monitoring programs for various petroleum clients.
Tasks will include gauging and sampling groundwater wells, sample delivery, completion of chain of custody paperwork, driving, well maintenance tasks, occasional inter-state travel and remote work.
This is a Casual full-time field-based role where you will be travelling to sites independently using hand tools and Environmental Monitoring equipment.
Duties
- Field data collection; including gauging water levels, collecting groundwater samples, and detecting fuel contamination
- Annotate site maps and conduct site inspection
- Conduct well maintenance and repairs
- Organise schedule and weekly project mobilisation
- Attention to detail and reporting on-site issues
- Groundwater monitoring
- Environmental sample collection
- Environmental equipment calibration and maintenance
About You
- Some industry experience would be preferable, but not essential in Environmental Monitoring
- Qualifications in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrography, or other similar fields
- Strong practical problem-solving skills, with evidence of fieldwork experience
- Able to work independently and travel to remote areas when required
