Employment Type – Ongoing, Full Time
Salary – $105,046pa + Incidental Allowance + Superannuation + Leave Loading
Your Role
Corrective Services Industries is currently seeking a qualified candidate and supervisor for the Senior Textiles role at South Coast Correctional Centre, you must have experience in following trades – Textiles – clothing production, sewing machine mechanic, Upholstery, Soft Furnishing and/or Motor Trimming.
As the standout candidate for this role, you will have robust communication skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethics and integrity in line with CSI core values to train and supervise inmates, Quality control / inspection responsibilities and ensuring compliance. You are also required to have sound computer knowledge and be resilient with strong time management skills.
What we’re looking for
As a standout candidate you will have:
- Demonstrated post-trade experience in textiles or garment manufacturing, clothing production, or associated trades
- Experience in process manufacturing of clothing articles and associated textile products
- Experience in supervising, training, or coaching staff or apprentices in a production or workshop environment
- Practical experience in the use of Business Management systems such as Pronto or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and associated compliance processes
- Proven ability to manage workflow, meet production deadlines, and maintain workplace safety and standards in an industrial setting
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Correctional Practice (or ability to complete within the required timeframe)
- Current NSW Driver Licence with capacity to travel as required
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Trade qualification in a textile or garment production trade, including Sewing Machine Mechanics, Upholstery, Soft Furnishing, or Motor Trimming, or equivalent.
