Alcoa is seeking a highly motivated and energetic team member to join our team leading China aluminum market analysis and creates meaningful and in-depth insights on Chinese macroeconomic trends, Chinese aluminum markets and their dynamics through fact-based analysis.

Reporting to the Global Markets Director, you will lead aluminum market analysis, with an emphasis on China’s market dynamics, industrial policies, and macroeconomic trends. Your insights will directly inform strategic decisions by Alcoa’s Executive Leadership team, including the CEO, CFO, and CCO.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Analysis and Insights: Develop and present fact-based analysis and insights on global and Chinese aluminum markets, macroeconomic trends, and industry drivers for Alcoa’s senior leadership, with direct exposure to members of the Executive team.
China Market Expertise: Act as Alcoa’s primary expert on the Chinese aluminum market, monitoring developments, trade policies, and competitive landscapes.
Market Intelligence: Monitor and interpret market developments, trade policies, and competitive landscapes; provide timely responses to inquiries.
Data Management: Co-lead the team’s data reporting and information-sharing processes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility across the organization.
Networking & External Engagement: Serve as Alcoa’s primary liaison with Chinese market analysts; build and maintain strong industry relationships.
Cost Curve Analysis: Lead cost curve modeling and ensure consistent methodology across workstreams.
Long-Term Planning: Drive the annual long-term assumptions process and support strategic projects within the global marketing team.
Continuous Learning: Attend relevant conferences and industry events to stay ahead of market trends.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in market analysis/industry research, preferably in a global company.
Aluminum industry experience and expertise highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in either Business, Finance or Economics.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal required.
Strong business judgment.
Ability to work independently and manage deliverables.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience working in an international setting;
Proactive engagement with external networks, including industry and business sectors and policy experts;
Strong project management skills; passion for detailed analysis work.
Management experience.
