About The Role
As Development Officer and Inspector, you will be responsible for assessing development applications and infrastructure works against Unitywater’s technical standards, legislation and service requirements.
From pre-lodgement advice through to inspection, audit and asset handover, you will ensure water supply and sewerage infrastructure is compliant, safe and fit for purpose. The role works closely with developers, consultants and internal teams to deliver timely outcomes, uphold service level agreements and drive best practice in development services.
This is a full-time position based at our Maroochydore Head Office.
About The Team
Unitywater is undergoing a period of significant growth, driven by major infrastructure investment to support sustainable development across our region. The Development Services team manages the process of connecting new developments to Unitywater’s water and sewer networks. This includes assessing applications, ensuring compliance with standards, and facilitating the connection process for developers. They also help developers navigate the complex approval process and ensure the safety of their water supply.

- Relevant industry experience in development, assessment and approvals processing, civil construction, water and sewerage infrastructure, or a similar qualification

- Experience coordinating inspections, audits and asset handover processes

- Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- A demonstrated commitment to customer service and delivering accurate, timely advice
- Sound decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse information and form balanced judgements
- A proactive approach to managing workload and meeting service level agreements
- A strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement and modelling positive WH&S behaviours
