Position Purpose:
The Medical Lead is a trusted member of the VFK cross functional team, demonstrating strong alignment and collaboration with senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders including key business partners in FK, to achieve business objectives. The role is highly respected and frequently consulted by business partners, as well as by CSL China and APAC cluster and global teams, for in‑country medical expertise.
The position is accountable for developing and executing a compliant Medical Strategic Plan aligned with cross‑functional priorities, delivering effective internal and external medical engagement initiatives, and leading country data‑generation activities. This includes reliable support for global programs and Investigator‑Initiated Studies (IIS).
Leveraging robust scientific and medical knowledge combined with operational excellence, the role executes strategically aligned medical tactics that deliver business‑critical objectives and maximize the impact of Medical Affairs contributions. The Medical Lead oversees medical activities related to product promotion, including support for marketed products, line extensions, and new products depending on business decision and strategy, ensuring accurate information dissemination and compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements, in close collaboration with cross functionals key stakeholders and team.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The main responsibilities and accountabilities for Medical Affairs Manager:
- Develops and implements the Medical Affairs strategies and activities that are aligned with country and global business priorities, strategies and needs, as well as, in compliance with corporate policies & guidelines. In partnership with other members of the country team, drives the business growth in China Market.
- Provides medical guidance and input to the Regulatory, Safety and Commercial leadership teams in support of key product registration, launch, & life cycle management activities.
- Closely collaborate with VFK cross functional colleagues and business partner’s medical teams in the development and implementation of the country brand strategy.
- Strong member of the VFK leadership team, shaping the development of the VFK strategy via therapeutic area clinical knowledge and insight from HCP and business partner interactions.
- Development and compliant implementation of the data gap analysis and data generation plan
- Implements and oversees the data generation activities and management of research grants (incl. investigator-initiated studies)
- Establish effective clinical engagement with medical / scientific associations, external medical experts, and other external stakeholders (e.g., patient advocacy groups, payer organizations)
- Be the senior medical affairs contact for the global team and business partner on medical matters and acts as the advocate/spokesperson for VFK products in all forums (as required). Drives External Thought leaders identification and engagement. Ensures excellence with respect to medical quality and professional external relations through scientific and medical communication.
- Compliance of Medical processes with internal global processes and guidance Responsible Local Function per local ABAC guidelines
- Supports new product introduction including all pre-launch preparation, launch and post-launch medical affairs activities. Provides medical input/expertise to the assessment and viability of new business opportunities.
- Oversights for medical information and medical enquiries.
- Ensure VFK colleagues & Business partners are adequately trained on medical aspects and required training materials are in place.
- Provides oversight for the educational materials review process and governance system. Ensures all educational activities are aligned with the relevant codes of practice. Provide leadership and guidance in any complaints process involving educational materials and activities.
- Provide line management for direct reports. Ensure performance plans and individual development plans are managed for the medical affairs team. Hold accountability for resources and budget for the medical team to agreed target.
Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Education
- Degree in Clinical Medicine (MD), pharmacy (PharmD), or advanced degree in science (PhD,) preferred
