About the role
As a Planner – Strategic Operations and Maintenance, you will play a key role in ensuring maintenance work is well organised, efficient, and ready to be delivered. You’ll take large annual work programs and break them into clear, practical monthly plans, making sure everything needed—such as labour, materials, tools, and equipment—is in place ahead of time. Your work will help minimise disruption to operations while ensuring assets are maintained safely and to the right standard.
Working closely with schedulers and operational teams, you’ll coordinate priorities, identify potential delays, and adjust plans based on resource availability and operational needs. You’ll also monitor performance, manage backlogs, and support continuous improvement by refining planning processes. This role is critical in keeping maintenance activities running smoothly, cost-effectively, and in line with service and safety requirements.

What you can expect with this role
- Developing detailed maintenance plans, annual work programs and delivery of new or upgraded assets
- Ensuring unit rate identify necessary labour, materials, services to support planned work budgeting process
- Identifying and resolving potential scheduling conflicts before they impact delivery
- Working closely with operational teams and work planners to align maintenance with operational priorities.
- Monitoring maintenance progress and performance to support delivery teams in managing backlog or overdue work
- Providing technical support and improving planning processes for efficiency
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or trade qualification in a related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience in maintenance planning and operations
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to structure and prioritise complex maintenance work programs
- Experience coordinating field-based operations, including labour, materials, and equipment
- Solid problem-solving capability, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks or delays
- Good technical understanding of infrastructure, asset maintenance, or industrial environments
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders
