We are currently looking for a Head of Finance to join our team in Romania. In this position you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, strategy, and governance for Romania, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and compliance with local regulations. The role supports decision-making delivering insights on growth strategies, opportunities and risks, fosters strong partnership with cross-functional leaders, and drives financial discipline. The role has fiduciary responsibility for accounting, tax, and treasury, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient cash management, and adherence to tax obligations.
Serving as a trusted business partner to affiliate and regional leadership, the Head of Finance Romania, ensures precision in financial planning, reporting, and analysis while offering insights on growth strategies, opportunities and risks. driving operational efficiency and contributing to the company’s long-term success.
This role is pivotal in providing expert financial guidance, ensuring local regulatory compliance, and influencing financial outcomes without direct reporting lines. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Head of Finance will align financial operations within the country to the broader organisational goals and drive cross-functional partnerships to accomplish financial objectives effectively. Also, as a trusted advisor offering insights on growth strategies, opportunities and risks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Thought Partnership & Decision Support
- Provide strategic thought partnership and decision support to the Affiliate General Manager.
- Provide financial guidance, advice, and decision support to Affiliate leadership team.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the GM, understanding their objectives, challenges, and opportunities and risks. Offer support to mitigate financial risk at affiliate level.
- Analyze and evaluate alternate financial plans to support the organization's objectives and provide sound financial decision-making.
- Risk Advocacy, prompt the organisation to consider risk during decision making, and support organisation in decision making to mitigate risk.
2. Financial Budgeting & Forecasting
- Responsible for partnering with the business to ensure the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial models for the Affiliate in close collaboration with CSLB FP&A CoE.
- Review financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable recommendations to enhance financial performance.
- Ensure accuracy of entries into BPC, CIS, Hyperion/Cubus.
3. Financial Performance Management
- Lead the development and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to effectively monitor and measure financial performance at the Affiliate.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial results by reviewing entries and provide journal entries when required e.g. for month end accruals.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by providing enabling insights and recommendations in collaboration with the CSLB/CSLV Analytics CoE.
4. Projects, Processes & Technology and Operational Excellence
- Work with International ComOps and CSLB/CSLV Finance to ensure business process excellence to identify business needs in information analysis, business systems, and decision-making support.
- Participate in regional, global functional, and cross-functional process and technology projects that drive productivity and deliver operational excellence.
5. Finance Representation
- Act as the face of Finance to the business, facilitating communication and resolution of queries via other finance pillars such as AO, Tax and Treasury.
- Effectively manage and influence without formal authority in a matrixed environment.
- Ensure the Finance Enterprise Model is understood in the Affiliate and be proactive in resolving any issues.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships to support goals and strategy of Affiliate/Enterprise
6. Financial Stewardship & Compliance
- Provide Financial Stewardship by supporting both internal and external financial audits.
- Support/compliance with local statutory filings, tax and other compliance activities, liase with necessary government departments.
7. Leadership & Additional Financial Activities
- Perform any other agreed financial activities that remain in country, such as tax and treasury tasks.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to other finance staff in country from AO or FP&A. Effectively manage and influence without formal authority in a matrixed environment
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline required; Post qualification CA, CPA, MBA preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience in relevant finance roles, ideally within commercial operations and in a multinational setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and is a natural collaborator who can engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong numerical and analytical skills together with an ability to understand and succinctly explain large and complex concepts
- Ability to work autonomously to Drive for Results
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial outcomes to business strategies.
- Expertise in financial planning and analysis, financial modeling, and risk management.
- Ability to set and execute globally integrated processes
