We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson to join our team on a full-time permanent basis at our Bunbury Depot.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical and instrumentation services, including maintenance, installation, testing, fault finding, repair, and commissioning of Water Corporation assets within the Wellington District, with occasional work across other areas of the South West Region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated tradesperson who takes ownership of their work, enjoys working independently, and is passionate about mentoring apprentices while contributing to a strong safety and team-focused culture.
What you can expect with this role
- Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance (breakdowns) on electrical and instrumentation assets across water and wastewater systems
- Fault finding and troubleshooting PLC, SCADA, Instrumentation, and communication systems with confidence
- Install and commission new switchboards, cabinets, soft starters, VSDs, pumps and motors, analysers, transmitters, cabling and associated electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Supervise, support, and develop apprentices and team members to strengthen overall expertise
- Take ownership of worksites and ensures safety, compliance, and operations, including leading of contractors
- Plan and execute work effectively, undertake complex isolations and shutdowns of water and wastewater systems
- Stay ahead with all necessary training to enhance your knowledge and capabilities
- Perform high voltage switching as required, ensuring operational efficiency
Key skills and experience
- Electrical Trade Certificate
- Instrumentation Certificate
- High Voltage Certificate (desirable, not essential)
- WA C Class Drivers Licence (HR highly regarded)
- EWP high risk license
- Trained in Confined Space Entry, Atmospheric Monitoring, Working at Heights
