The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Facilities & Project Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring essential government facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational. You will lead maintenance and project delivery across key portfolios including Health, Education, Justice and Government Employee Housing (GEH) within your geographical area of responsibility. This role involves overseeing subcontractor performance and building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety standards.
The Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) provides facilities management services for more than 5000 Government-owned sites across 48 agencies in South Australia. Ventia partners with local small and medium businesses to deliver these services 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ensuring communities have access to safe, reliable, and well-maintained facilities. The Government Employee Housing (GEH) contract is supported by AGFMA resources.
This permanent full-time position is responsible for facilities management and project delivery across the beautiful Kangaroo Island and Fleurieu Peninsula region. Based locally, it offers the opportunity to work across some of South Australia’s most scenic and iconic areas while delivering initiatives that make a real impact in these vibrant communities.

Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with Government agencies and subcontractors, resolve escalations, and collaborate with internal teams.
- Maintenance Oversight – Manage planned and breakdown maintenance activities, including inspections, corrective actions, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Project Delivery – Deliver projects of all values, including scope changes, timelines, budgets, and subcontractor claims, ensuring on-time and quality outcomes.
- Safety and Compliance – Champion a safety-first culture, conduct toolbox talks, monitor site safety, and manage incidents in line with SHEQ standards.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and compliance.
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership in facilities or project management, ideally within government or housing contracts.
- Trade background (highly desirable) and/or tertiary qualifications in Project Management or Facilities Management.
- Strong understanding of maintenance operations and subcontractor management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and KPIs effectively.
- Current driver’s licence, plus ability to travel regionally.
