About the Role
The Safety Advisor supports the implementation of Ventia’s health and safety management system, builds strong working relationships across the SHEQ team, Ventia, client stakeholders, staff and subcontractors, and leads activities such as audits, incident investigations, and continuous SHEQ improvement initiatives.
Working within our Infrastructure Services team, the successful applicant will be working within our Electricity team based from our Dandenong South offices.
Other Role Responsibilities:
- Enter and track incidents and corrective actions in Vensafe through to completion.
- Provide input into the Risk Assessment process and ensure identified controls are transferred to the Ventia Management System.
- Review workplace monitoring and inspection processes as directed to ensure that relevant controls are implemented and maintained (including IVMS reports).
- Assist to close out actions from inspections, audits, hazard reports, investigations and workplace meetings that have been captured in Vensafe and project toolboxes.
- Proactively support environmental initiatives to improve performance.
- Work with Managers / supervisors and training staff to identify training non compliances and assist to close the gaps where possible to ensure work crews are correctly certified (includes VOC’s)
- Internal and client reporting of KPIS and outcomes.
- Local travel when required to sites / depots around Victoria.
About You
To be successful in your application you will have a minimum of a Certificate IV in WHS with experience ideally within the Electrical Lines or Substation industry or infrastructure / Construction industries.
You will also possess:
- Investigations (ICAM / Taproot)
- Experience in conducting Audits & Inspections
- Proven ability in Delivering training and SHEQ improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines governing WPH&S
- Highly proficient in MS Office suite and Safety software, reporting
