What the role will involve
• Installation and commissioning of new Electrical switchboards, PLC’s, communication systems, Soft Starters, VSD’s, motors, cabling and associated electrical and instrumentation components in Water / Wastewater and Drainage systems.
• Electrical, control and comms upgrades to existing Water Corporation assets.
• Undertake isolations and shutdowns on electrical plant and equipment.
• Carry out all tasks on Electrical, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation and communication systems.
• Execute advanced fault finding on Electrical, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and communication systems.
• Complex problem solving of Water / Wastewater systems.
• Ability to see all parts of the state with occasional regional work (FIFO or DIDO) depending on project location and requirements. You will be required to work away approximately once in every 4-6 weeks. This is not a FIFO role and are expected to work in Perth Metro when not working in the regions. Overtime and allowances will be given for regional works.
Key skills and experience
• Electrical Trade Certificate
• Instrumentation Certificate IV
• Construction background or experience is desirable, not essential
• High Voltage Certificate desirable, not essential
• EWP high risk license is desirable, not essential
• WA C Class Drivers Licence (HR highly regarded)
• Knowledge of Confined Space entry requirements and Working at Heights
