About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager, the purpose of the Communications & Community Engagement Representative is to ensure effective, compliant, and proactive communication and stakeholder engagement across all aspects of the roads project, in alignment with contractual and regulatory obligations.
This is a permanent part-time (3 Days per week) position working within our Transport team based from our depot in Laverton North.
Other responsibilities as required:
- Ensure all communications and stakeholder engagement activities comply with PSDR and contractual obligations
- Maintain a public enquiry register (e.g. Asset Vision, MS Access Database), recording complaints, responses, and resolution dates.
- Acknowledge and respond to public enquiries within 5 business days; report fortnightly to the State.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including DTP, VicRoads, NetFlow, Councils, and third parties. Liaise with internal staff, generate reports and distribute to appropriate authorities on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Organise and participate in meetings with councils and authorities to provide updates and gather feedback.
- Notify affected stakeholders within the timeframes specified in the contract or well in advance, with clear impact details.
- Publish stakeholder notifications and updates on the project website.
- Maintain and update web pages with construction and traffic disruption information.
About You
The successful applicant will have experience working in Media/Communications in a similar position accompanied with:
- Good networking and relationship-building skills
- Personal drive and results-oriented approach
- Strong organisational skills, including planning and goal setting
- Proficiency in Office Software: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), and familiarity with document management systems
