We are looking for an organised, proactive, and energetic Senior Operations Assistant to support the Agricultural East District.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role supporting a 35+ employee operation across a large and diverse regional footprint.
The role is based in Merredin and provides support across the Agricultural East District, covering Tammin to Southern Cross, out to Beacon, and down to Corrigin.

About the Role
This position blends administration, operational support, and significant responsibility for store and inventory management.
You will be a central coordination point across procurement, stock control, reporting, systems support, safety processes, and customer service contributing to reliable and efficient operations across Agricultural East.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
- Identify, record, and escalate hazards promptly.
Stores & Inventory Management (Key Accountability)
- Manage the Ag East District store based in Merredin.
- Maintain accurate stock levels, records, and store organisation.
- Oversee goods receipting and ensure safe material handling.
- Conduct stocktake and support audit processes.
- Prepare and issue replenishment packs for field crews.
- Operate a forklift safely (licence required, or willingness to obtain).
Procurement
- Purchase goods and services through E‑Procurement.
- Ensure goods are receipted correctly and suppliers are coordinated effectively.
- Support management of minor depot contracts.
Operational Support
- Provide short-term relief during high‑demand periods (phones, dispatching, admin tasks).
- Attend planning and operational meetings, maintaining action logs and follow‑ups.
Systems Support
- Provide basic support for SAP, Maximo, Fieldworks, Grange, Lite Spatial, Payroll etc.
- Create or update work orders as needed.
Finance & Invoices
- Assist with accurate and timely invoice processing and cost allocations.
- Submit ad hoc payments when required.
Customer Service
- Handle customer and operational enquiries and direct them appropriately.

You will be trusted to take ownership of the role, contribute ideas, and build strong professional relationships across the district.

What You’ll Need
- A valid driver’s licence
- Forklift licence or commitment to obtain promptly (Training provided)
- Ability to travel across the district as required (approx. once per fortnight)
- Experience in operations, stores, service delivery, or administrative support (advantageous)
- Strong organisational and digital system skills
