This permanent full-time role is a great opportunity to better yourself in the water industry!
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Operator to lead and coordinate the operation and and maintenance of our conveyance systems extending across the Wellington district.
You will possess a high degree of leadership and planning skills, bringing new ideas and solutions from previous industry experience.
Working closely with the Team Leader to deliver planned and reactive works, you will be engaging and supervising various contractors to deliver work to a high standard as well as carrying out operational tasks associated with a civil operator.
You will mentor and share your knowledge and skills by providing advice and guidance to Trainees and Operators, whilst liaising with the Shires and stakeholders ensuring legislative and company compliance.
Always one to use your initiative and take ownership, you will endeavour for the best outcomes for the business and your team. For instance, being on the front foot of preventative maintenance, interpreting data analysis on SCADA, reporting faults, and ultimately looking at our schemes to understand the prospective problems before they become a big costly issue!

What the role will involve.
- Coordinate and manage effective operation, maintenance, and repairs to conveyance assets in the Wellington District.
- Attend to faults, ability to work after-hours, and participate on a standby roster as required.
- Assist with job planning to ensure safety and equipment is appropriately resourced and meets required standards.
- Provide advice and/or assist Trainees, Operators and other contractors as required.
- Liaise with Shires, stakeholders, consultants and contractors on works to ensure legislative and company compliance.
- Records and documents information relevant to the scheduled work in an accurate and timely manner, including use of forms, computers and other devices as required.
- Ensuring that all work is undertaken with safety as the priority in the provision of a work environment where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety.
- Undertake competency and performance assessments of Operators as required.
What we require from you.
- As a minimum, completion of Certificate III in National Water Package (NWP)
- Valid Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s License (prefer MR truck license)
- Available for rostered overtime and call-out emergencies outside of normal working hours as required.
- Certificate IV Water/Wastewater in NWP or Certificate IV in Management or Leadership or progression towards.
- High degree of technical knowledge skills relevant to the district assets or ability to demonstrate from a similar industry.
- Ideally you will possess sound knowledge in Maximo/SAP and Corporate applications.
