Ready to play a key role in keeping our rail network moving? Based in Port Kembla, this is your chance to join a warm, collaborative team as a Maintenance Scheduler. In this pivotal role, you’ll take the lead in developing daily, weekly and long-term maintenance schedules across the Bluescope rail network, covering routine works, breakdown responses and project activities.
You’ll be at the heart of operations, ensuring work is prioritised, coordinated and delivered safely and efficiently. Working closely with our Rail Maintenance Co-ordinators, you’ll also support the smooth day-to-day running of the team, including organising PPE, trade supplies and other essential resources.

Key Accountabilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance, capital, and project work in SAP to maximise labour and equipment utilisation (“tool time”).
- Develop and publish optimised schedules based on priorities, budgets, resource capacity, and work readiness, returning incomplete plans for rework where required.
- Collaborate with Coordinators to balance weekly workloads, optimise skill mix, identify additional labour needs, and ensure fabrication, spares, and resources are ready for execution.
- Prepare and release compliant job packs incorporating all safety, quality, and technical requirements.
- Monitor schedule compliance, re-schedule incomplete work, and report on planned vs actual performance.
- Ensure timely TECO, accurate documentation, and maintenance history records.
- Provide operational feedback to improve maintenance plans, frequencies, and capacity planning.
- Support stakeholders, address customer concerns, and act as relief Coordinator when required.
- Promote continuous improvement, cost efficiency, quality, safety, and active participation in development and performance programs.
About You
- Trade qualified, with an Associate Diploma (or equivalent) highly regarded.
- Proven experience in maintenance scheduling within a similar environment.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP maintenance and work order management systems, with experience in planning and scheduling.
- Highly organised, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in SAP and Power BI, with strong written and IT skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, review, and improve maintenance plans in complex environments.
