An interesting Project Leader opportunity awaits!
An opportunity is available for a Project Leader to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Region. In this role, you will manage relationships with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and internal teams while delivering both capital and non‑capital projects. Reporting to the Project Delivery Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for planning and delivering a portfolio of minor capital and operational maintenance projects over 12–18 months.
This role is a part of a delivery team of about eight other Project Leaders delivering large portfolio of projects across the Region. You will be managing your own portfolio of up to fifteen projects across various engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical, covering Water, Sewage, Drainage, and Irrigation assets. Responsibilities span the full project lifecycle—from initiation and design through to procurement, delivery, and commissioning.

What you can expect with this role
The position offers exposure to a diverse range of engineering and project management activities and is suited to experienced project managers as well as those looking to expand or refine their project delivery skills. Your work may involve site visits to confirm scope or monitor construction, along with office‑based tasks such as preparing project plans, business cases, tender documents, and coordinating with consultants and stakeholders.
While projects are generally assigned within your local Region, some travel to other regional or remote sites may be required. The role provides a strong platform to develop and apply skills in project management, contract administration, stakeholder engagement, and communication.
This role provides the opportunity to apply and further develop your project management, contract management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills through the delivery of minor works projects. Strong planning, communication, and negotiation abilities are essential. Your work will support the ongoing delivery of safe and reliable water and wastewater services for our customers.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone with a solid project management background in the engineering or construction field.
In addition, you may have experience with
- Scope review and project delivery strategy
- Tendering and contract award processes
- Contractor Management
- Construction experience including quality & HSE site inspections
- Contract administration processes
- Stakeholder management
