The Role
Excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and customer focused Caretaker to provide ad hoc maintenance and cleaning duties where required and be regularly involved in the day-to-day needs and operations of Lancelin Defence base. You will provide customer support to personnel using the facilities and ensure that the facilities are safe, well maintained and run smoothly and assist in delivering and maintaining an exceptional service for our client.
This is a live-in arrangement (house provided on site) working a 38-hour week, however there is also a requirement to be on call and/or work out of hours, including weekends to cover the Range Control Function.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- Maintenance of infrastructure.
- Land management such as spraying, slashing & fence repairs.
- Conducting building inspections, audits, and data recording.
- Coordinating and ensuring subcontractors satisfy all protocols prior to arriving on site, when on site and upon exiting the premises.
- Administering arrival and departure inspections and tasks of all Defence personnel and visitors.
- Delivering briefings and ensuring operational readiness of all participants before training exercises.
- Ensuring adherence to Range Standing Orders and reporting any breaches
- Manufacturing and repairing training collateral used in the Training Area. (This excludes military equipment).
The Candidate:
Along with strong communication and commitment to your role, candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Valid Australian drivers licence
- Hold current Operational licences and equipment tickets
- Experience with the use relevant tools including power tools, chain saws etc
- Working knowledge with inventory control, stock management and storage maintenance
- High level of navigational/orientation skills
- Experience in Range and/or Defence Land Management (highly desirable)
- Current certificate in Senior First Aid
- Bush firefighting qualifications (highly desirable)
You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Department of Defence Security Clearance to Apply.
