Join our team of 4,000 energetic employees working across WA to supply and manage water, ultimately benefiting the lives of our communities and environment.
When our workplace spans across 2.6 million square kilometres, the career options are endless.
- Permanent, local role in Geraldton offering real work–life balance with a 9‑day fortnight (no FIFO)
- Work on essential infrastructure with strong training, autonomy and long‑term career development
- $107,228 plus regional allowance, plus overtime.
About the role
As a Welder/Fabrication Tradesperson, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing vital water infrastructure across the Geraldton region and beyond. This is a hands‑on, field‑based position suited to a trade‑qualified welder who enjoys variety and autonomy. Rather than being tied to a workshop, you’ll travel throughout Geraldton Murchison District — working on steel water mains. Your work will involve a mix of field welding, primarily using Flux Core, and workshop‑based MIG welding as required, along with pipe repairs, leak response and preventative maintenance.
Operating from an MR truck fitted with a welder and alongside a Fire Spotter/TA, your “office” could range from coastal locations to open farmland or remote country, offering a different view and challenge each day. The role encourages teamwork, problem‑solving and self‑management, with strong support from a flexible and trusted Hiring Manager. This is an opportunity to enjoy genuine work–life balance, develop your skills, and be part of a collaborative team delivering essential services to regional communities.
