An exciting opportunity for a Field Manager (telco) – operations and maintenance to support one of our contracts. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you will deliver 24/7/365 service assurance across complex optical and ELV transmission networks in some of Australia’s most challenging environments.
You will play a critical role in fault response, preventative maintenance and network reliability, working closely with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders to keep essential infrastructure operational year-round.

About the Role
You are an experienced carrier technician who thrives in remote and demanding environments, calm under pressure, technically strong and take pride in maintaining critical infrastructure in cyclone prone regions.
You will support field crews, manage and coordinate civil and technical contractors as required. Strong hands-on capability is required across multiple technologies including optical fibre and electrical fault diagnostics and rectification. Expertise in –
- Mobile base station equipment (4G/5G)
- DWDM, SDH/PDH, Ethernet and MUX networks
- Cable carrier systems
- DC power systems, batteries and rectifiers
- Generators and emergency power plants
- Solar powered systems
- Electrical and minor facility maintenance
You also prioritise safety for yourself, your crew and contractors always and deliver first response commitments for customer network incidents and perform proactive/reactive maintenance, respond to network outages, failures and programmed works.
Required Skills and Experience
- Cert IV in Telecommunications (or equivalent)
- ACMA Cable Registration (desirable)
- Fibre splicing ticket / experience (desirable)
- Ability to satisfy Rail Category 3 medical requirement
- Drivers licence
- Computer literate
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Self-driven to work autonomously within a supportive and collaborative team
