About the Project
Ventia is currently delivering an upgrade for Unitywater at the Burpengary East Wastewater Treatment Plant. This will include new inlet works with odour control, bioreactor and clarifier installations, disinfection system renewal, and electrical/control upgrades.
This project will increase treatment capacity as well as improve environmental outcomes by reducing nutrient discharge.

About the Role
Seeking a dedicated Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor tojoin our capital works project in at the Burpengary East Wastewater Treatment Plant.
This permanent, full-time position plays a key role in delivering Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) outcomes. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of safety and excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing and maintaining Safety Management Plans and risk registers
- Conducting incident investigations and supporting audit programs
- Delivering SHEQ training, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Ensuring compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures, and critical risk protocols
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive SHEQ performance
About you
You are a proactive and collaborative SHEQ professional with:
- Core utilities or construction background, preferred
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (minimum or equivalent)
- ICAM investigation or equivalent certified
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in audits and reporting
- Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Systems strengths in use and application for reporting, trending and proactive SHEQ management
- Current driver’s licence
