Ventia is seeking an experienced Manager – Health & Injury Management to lead health and injury management activity across a significant multi state portfolio, while also contributing to selected enterprise wide strategies. This role is critical in driving strong compliance, effective early intervention, and sustainable return to work outcomes, while reducing risk and improving workers compensation performance.
You will work closely with senior leaders, operational teams, regulators, and external providers to deliver best practice health and injury management frameworks aligned to Ventia’s values, obligations, and self insurance commitments.
This full time role can be based either at Ventia’s North Plympton head office or regionally within South Australia, depending on candidate location, with flexibility to work from home where appropriate. The position will involve site visits and travel across SA, along with occasional interstate travel to support operations in WA, VIC, NT, TAS and the ACT.

About the Role
Reporting to the Group Manager – Health & Injury Management, you will provide strategic, operational, and people leadership across the function, including:
- Leading and mentoring a small team of Health & Injury Management professionals, including oversight of outsourced claims providers.
- Driving early intervention, rehabilitation, return to work, and wellbeing programs across the enterprise.
- Overseeing workers compensation claims performance, trends, costs, and liabilities to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with workers compensation legislation, self insurance licence conditions, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, while acting as a key liaison with regulators and external partners.
- Developing performance reports, data insights, and improvement programs, and partnering with business units to embed consistent, best practice health and injury management capability.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, HR/IR, Safety, Law, Business, Personal Injury or Insurance (postgraduate study desirable).
- Extensive experience managing workers compensation and injury management programs within a self insured employer, ideally in a complex, multi state environment.
- Strong technical expertise across injury management, return to work, strategic claims oversight, and risk management.
- Proven leadership capability, with experience leading specialist teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative, consultative approach with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, regulator engagement, and driving change in complex organisations.
