The Opportunity
Join our Moorebank team supporting Australia’s Defence Force. In this role, you will perform panel beating and painting tasks for the maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and equipment.
Duties include repairing metal, plastic, and fibreglass bodywork, refitting components, and testing electrical systems (including ignition, charging, lighting, ABS, and body management systems). You will also carry out abrasive blasting, apply protective coatings, and inspect paint finishes.
You will operate a range of tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, precision instruments, and diagnostic devices, and assist with non-mechanical maintenance tasks as required.

Key Accountabilities
- Repair, replace, and refit damaged panels and components
- Restore vehicle bodies and chassis to manufacturer specifications
- Carry out welding, alignment, filling, sanding, and finishing
- Remove and reinstall mechanical and auto-electrical components
- Prepare, mix, and apply paints, primers, and finishes
- Complete touch-ups, polishing, and final detailing
- Assist with custom builds and vehicle signage
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
- Accurately complete job cards and report additional faults
- Apply rust-proofing treatments
About You:
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1). Due to this requirement, applicants must be Australian Citizens.
- Hold a recognised Trade Certificate III (Vehicle Body – Panel Beating or Industrial Spray Painting).
- Hold a current C class driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated experience in inspecting and repairing damage to motor vehicles and mechanical equipment.
- Proven ability to operate airless spray painting equipment and use dry abrasive blasting equipment.
- Basic knowledge of hazardous material removal processes.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use proprietary software relevant to the role.
- Basic understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
