The Opportunity
Join our Sydney Roads and Asset Performance portfolio and lead the successful delivery of a defined portfolio spanning Planning, Development, Environmental, and Community functions. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure all activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while proactively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships.
As a member of the Contract Management Team (CMT), you will contribute to achieving the project’s strategic objectives through strong leadership, effective people development, service excellence, financial performance, and consistent delivery against contractual key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the Planning and Development portfolio in line with relevant TfNSW standards, guidelines, and specifications.
- Lead, manage, and develop team performance to achieve business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the Client to deliver positive outcomes.
- Establish and manage effective relationships with stakeholders, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with asset management, delivery, maintenance, procurement, finance, quality, and WHS teams.
- Partner with the Asset team to ensure all projects align with the Asset Management Plan.
- Oversee financial performance, including robust forecasting, budgeting, and program management.
- Drive sustainable practices and effective resource planning.
- Fulfil responsibilities outlined in the SHEQ Accountabilities and Responsibilities framework.
- Champion the Safe for Life philosophy and promote a caring, safety-first culture.
- Act as a role model for a positive SHEQ culture, supporting leaders and teams to do the same.
About You
- Degree in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Current Class C driver’s licence.
- Extensive experience in the civil and/or construction industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage conflict, lead negotiations, and align multiple stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Experience managing design packages under various delivery models.
- Working knowledge of TfNSW standards and requirements.
- Ability to interpret and analyse plans, diagrams, and design drawings.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, margins, and forecasting.
- Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams across cultures and backgrounds.
