About the role
We have a permanent opportunity for Principal Engineer joining our project management team in Leederville. You’ll drive organisational project delivery by leading strategic improvement initiatives, advancing risk and performance frameworks, and integrating modern digital tools that strengthen capability, efficiency, and executive decision‑making.
What the role will involve
- Provide expert advice and representation on project delivery best practice across enterprise‑wide initiatives, continuous improvement programs, and the enhancement of organisational delivery capability
- Design, maintain, and govern core project delivery processes and procedures, ensuring they remain current, relevant, and aligned with strategic objectives and industry standards
- Lead cross‑functional improvement initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, delivery effectiveness, and overall business performance
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of business performance to identify systemic trends, performance drivers, and root causes, providing insights that inform targeted interventions and strategic decision‑making
- Manage the development and delivery of performance reports, systems and tools on behalf of the Project Management Business Unit, that support management decisions at all levels
- Provide strategic leadership and expert guidance on the effective application of project risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and ongoing monitoring across the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the corporate risk management framework
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of business risk and value frameworks and supporting tools for major capital projects

About you
You’ll have a degree level qualification in engineering, project management, commerce, or relevant discipline, along with extensive engineering or project management experience in the delivery of major projects, including experience in infrastructure planning, definition and/or detailed design of infrastructure assets. You’ll also have experience with business improvement practices, management of project risks and reporting. Your demonstrated leadership, and ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence both senior internal and external stakeholders will ensure success in this role.
