Ventia is seeking a Principal Digital Engineering Lead to join our Engineering Services team in a permanent full-time capacity. This role can be based in Parramatta, Brisbane or Melbourne. Supporting a growing portfolio, this role will play a key part in establishing and evolving digital engineering capability across the business.

About the role
This is a strategic and technically influential role focused on building and maturing Digital Engineering and BIM capability. You will support delivery and tendering teams by establishing consistent standards, frameworks and best practice, while working closely with engineering and operational stakeholders to uplift capability and ensure high-quality, scalable digital delivery.
You will define direction, influence technology adoption, and build capability from the ground up across a large, complex organisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as a recognised technical authority for Digital Engineering and BIM
- Define and govern standards, frameworks and assurance requirements
- Establish expectations for model quality, data management and digital handover
- Drive capability uplift through a structured roadmap
- Provide audit, assurance and quality oversight
- Support delivery and tendering teams with technical expertise
About you
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, digital engineering, construction management or a related field are highly regarded, along with formal BIM or ISO-aligned training
- Strong knowledge of BIM frameworks, ISO 19650, information management and model governance
- Experience establishing or scaling digital engineering capability across teams
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes through structured frameworks
- Experience supporting tenders and complex projects with standardised digital methodologies
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
