The AGFMA supports more than 5,000 government-owned sites across 48 South Australian agencies, including schools, health sites, courts, police stations and community facilities. These assets play a vital role in delivering essential services to the public every day.
About the Role
In this permanent, full-time position, you’ll take ownership of a defined portfolio of sites, ensuring they remain safe, functional and compliant. Based in Port Augusta, you will oversee sites across the region within AGFMA’s Justice, Police, Offices & Public Interface Services (JPOP), Government Employee Housing (GEH) and APY Lands portfolios. This role requires regular travel for site management, stakeholder engagement and support of local teams.
You’ll be responsible for managing planned and reactive maintenance, supporting the delivery of minor works projects under $150k, and working closely with subcontractors, government agencies and internal Ventia teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams, acting as the key point of contact for facilities management and asset maintenance matters.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance across allocated sites, using data and insights to inform preventative maintenance activities.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and close out corrective actions.
- Coordinate minor projects under $150k, including progress tracking and documentation.
- Support work order management, variations, and subcontractor queries.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure delivery aligns with scope, budget, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure services meet AGFMA KPIs, compliance and safety standards, while identifying risks and opportunities to optimise asset performance.
- Maintain accurate asset records, plans and reporting.
What We’re Looking For - Skills & Experience
- Experience in facilities management, trades, asset maintenance, or commercial real estate, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
- Project coordination or project management experience (desirable).
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Trade or property/facilities management related qualifications (desirable).
- Current driver’s licence.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check or be willing to obtain.
