Find your Further with Ventia as a Senior WHS Advisor in our high performing Transport team, supporting our Transurban contract.
This is a pivotal role acting as the key interface between the WHS Manager and operational delivery teams, driving safety, compliance and continuous improvement across projects. You will work in a dynamic environment across both road corridors and tunnels, where no 2 days are the same supporting maintenance teams, incident response teams and high-risk operational activities.
You must be able to work a 50/50 split of day and nights.

Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain WHS/SHEQ systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and client requirements
- Conduct audits, inspections, and critical control checks across high-risk environments
- Lead incident investigations (ICAM) and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Provide expert advice and practical safety solutions to operational teams
- Deliver training, toolbox talks, and coaching to embed a strong safety culture
- Support contractor onboarding, compliance, and performance monitoring
- Analyse WHS data and report on trends, insights and performance outcomes
- Partner with stakeholders across field teams, leadership, and client representatives
Required Skills and Experience
You are confident and proactive and thrive in complex, high risk environments.
- Cert IV / Diploma in WHS
- Current drivers licence
- Construction white card
- ICAM Lead Investigator (or working towards)
- Lead auditor certification and Cert IV Training & Assessment (highly regarded)
- Strong experience in high-risk industries (e.g. roads, tunnels, construction)
- Solid understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and incident causation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage with frontline teams and the client
