About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior People & Culture Business Partner to join the Confluence Water Joint Venture on a 12-month fixed-term basis, embedded within the Ventia component of the partnership.
Working closely with operational leaders and broader JV stakeholders, you will deliver both strategic and hands-on People & Culture support, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-performing people outcomes.
This role focuses on optimising workforce effectiveness, building organisational capability, and supporting the retention and development of talent within a well-established operational environment.
Based in Chatswood, with semi-regular time spent on site, success in this role will require strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to operate seamlessly across both corporate and frontline settings.
Flexible work arrangements are available, including hybrid options and part-time arrangements (3–4 days per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders to embed people strategy, policies, and frameworks
- Deliver end-to-end P&C support across workforce planning, performance, and structure
- Drive initiatives that improve retention, capability, and development
- Manage employee and industrial relations matters end-to-end, including leading complex IR cases
- Provide clear, pragmatic ER/IR advice
- Coach leaders to strengthen performance, engagement, and leadership capability
- Implement Ventia-led people initiatives within the JV environment
- Support change and improvement initiatives, managing people impacts
- Use data and insights to identify workforce risks and opportunities
- Act as a trusted advisor, balancing JV dynamics with Ventia priorities
About You
You’re a confident and pragmatic P&C professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys partnering closely with leaders to get things done.
You bring:
- Experience in a P&C / HR Business Partner or advisory role
- Solid ER/IR capability (operational exposure highly regarded)
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders or within complex structures (desirable)
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to translate people frameworks into real-world outcomes
- Relevant qualifications in HR, Business, or similar
