About the Role
The role combines strategic lifecycle management, regulatory compliance and oversight of maintenance execution, supporting readiness for the 2036 handover to the Qld Government. You will lead a team of 5 coordinating the day-to-day maintenance, renewal activities and project works across domestic and international stations, tracks and surrounding structures. Duties include –
- Develop and maintain long term asset management plans across track, signalling, stations, electrical asset and support infrastructure
- Lead lifecycle planning (condition modelling, remaining life assessments and renewal prioritisation)
- Oversee routine, reactive and planned maintenance activities ensuring schedules and statutory requirements are met
- Coordinate defect management, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Act as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP) for electrical and signalling works
- Manage asset related budgets and provide financial reporting
- Maintain accurate asset registers, reporting systems and digital asset data
- Provide leadership to maintenance teams supporting development, training and performance reviews
- Engage with key stakeholders and ensure compliance with Rail Safety National Law and Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator requirements
- Maintain and improve Safety Management Systems and support audits including documentation
Required Skills and Experience
May require after hours site attendance in the event of incidents and must the ability to satisfy a Rail Cat 2 medical and police check requirements.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management or equivalent
- Current QLD electrical licence (incl. CPR LVR and first aid)
- Proven experience in rail infrastructure maintenance or asset management
- Strong analytical, commercial and decision-making capability
- Construction white card
- Strong time management and ability to work autonomously
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Highly organised with strong ethics and approachability
