About the role:
We are seeking a highly experienced integrated planning professional with strong strategic capability to join the Corporate Strategy and Integrated Planning team as Principal – Integrated Planning.
This role is a pivotal enterprise role responsible for delivering and orchestrating integrated planning across Water Corporation, bringing together strategy, risk, investment, asset and scheme performance, optimising delivery and planning layers into a single, coherent system connecting customer, operations and delivery. You will operate independently across the enterprise -bringing together complex inputs, assessing feasibility and sequencing, and providing decision-ready insights and informed input across planning domains to Executives and senior leaders. What the role will involve:
In this role, you will:
Lead enterprise integrated planning
- Drive the enterprise-wide integrated planning process, bringing together requirements and priorities from asset management, operations and maintenance, information technology, finance and corporate services across short, medium and long-term planning horizons to create a single view of the Corporation’s future plans
- Maintain enterprise-wide planning principles, standards and artefacts
- Steward the Integrated Planning Framework, including governance, methodologies and planning architecture
- Lead significant uplift in planning maturity, practices and tools across the organisation
- Ensure enterprise planning meets regulatory obligations and external commitments where relevant
Integrate and assess enterprise plans
- Assess enterprise plans for feasibility, sequencing, dependencies and constraints
- Apply enterprise business blueprints to assess alignment with the future-state operating model
- Identify trade-offs, optimisation opportunities, risks and service impacts across the asset lifecycle
- Surface and work through enterprise-level tensions, gaps and risks across planning domains to inform decision making
- Support and orchestrate rolling planning cycles across senior leadership teams, engaging directly with specialist planners to understand and manage assumptions, dependencies and trade-offs across plans
Enable executive decision-making
- Translate complex planning outputs into clear, decision-ready insights
- Provide independent, evidence-based input to ensure plans are aligned and consistent across assumptions, sequencing and resourcing
- Enable confident, prioritised decisions grounded in feasible enterprise-wide plans
Key skills and experience:
You are an enterprise-level thinker with deep experience in integrated planning and the confidence to influence at senior levels.
You’ll bring:
- Degree qualification in business, science, engineering or a related discipline, or extensive comparable professional experience
- Substantial experience in enterprise or integrated planning environments, including the design, stewardship or operation of integrated planning frameworks and planning cycles
- Substantial experience integrating plans across strategy, investment, assets, operations and enabling functions in complex enterprise environments
- Experience working across multiple planning domains (e.g. asset, operational, investment or strategic planning) in regulated or asset intensive complex environments
- Proven ability to assess feasibility and navigate constraints across complex enterprise systems
- Considerable experience supporting Executive and senior leader planning and integration decisions through structured analysis, insight and informed input
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Deep understanding of integrated planning as an enterprise discipline and system
- Strong analytical capability and ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights
- High commercial acumen and ability to balance strategy, constraints and delivery capacity
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders in complex environments
- Independence, sound judgement and confidence operating in complex environments
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, particularly in high-stakes discussions
- Willingness to challenge the status quo with a continuous improvement mindset
Exposure to enterprise architecture, business blueprints or policy environments, will be highly regarded.
