About the Project
Ventia is currently delivering an upgrade for Unitywater at the Burpengary East Wastewater Treatment Plant. This will include new inlet works with odour control, bioreactor and clarifier installations, disinfection system renewal, and electrical/control upgrades.
This project will increase treatment capacity as well as improve environmental outcomes by reducing nutrient discharge.

About the Role
Seeking a dedicated Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor tojoin our capital works project in at the Burpengary East Wastewater Treatment Plant.
We are seeking a motivated and organised Project SHEQ Coordinator to support the delivery of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) outcomes across the Burpengary East Wastewater Treatment Plant. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement across project activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their SHEQ career within a supportive, collaborative and high-performing team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support with safety reporting, incident management, and administration
- Maintain accurate SHEQ records and ensure effective document control
- Coordinate onboarding, inductions, and subcontractor compliance processes
- Assist with audits, inspections, site walks, and safety observations
- Support risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety initiatives
- Assist in maintaining training and competency matrices
About you
You are a proactive and collaborative SHEQ professional with:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and requirements.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proactive, resilient, and motivated
- Ability to build strong working relationships
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and drive outcomes
- Experience with Microsoft office products and SharePoint
- Current driver’s licence
