Ventia have a new opportunity for a Scheduler to join our DMC (Defence Maintenance Contract) based at our Ross Island Barracks in South Townsville.
This is full-time permanent position and to be successful, you will be required to be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Defence Security clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1).

About the Role
In this role you will support the Site Manager to ensure effective, efficient and best practice scheduling, resourcing, progress monitoring and performance assessment and reporting.
As a Scheduler you will be working alongside a planner and technical supervisors on site and will schedule work orders for maintenance work on Defence equipment including resource management (trades) and coordinating repair parts and equipment.
Your responsibilities also include initiating actions to prevent occurrences of non-conformance and implement solutions for corrective actions and attending various production and scheduling meetings. You will also have a focus on continuous improvements and innovations, analysing and recommending improvements to current Ventia and Defence maintenance practices and drive excellence in risk and SHEQ performance.
Required Skills and Experience
You must possess sound understanding and experience in scheduling activities in a complexed maintenance environment including work order management to achieve technical outputs.
- Strong communicator (written and verbal)
- Sound computer skills (ERP/SAP/Microsoft suite)
- Confident to challenge decisions
- Be a team player
- Be well organised and proficient in time management, problem solving and decision-making
