About the Role
This hands-on role combines fieldwork, advanced technology, data analysis, and problem solving, offering the opportunity to build expertise across a wide range of environmental disciplines. You will work with industry leading equipment including ADCPs, water quality skills in hydrography, environmental monitoring and data management.
Whether you are troubleshooting a monitoring station, surveying river cross-sections, collecting groundwater samples, or analysing complex environmental datasets, you will be part of a team delivering meaningful outcomes for some of Australia’s most significant environmental projects.
Under the guidance of the Regional Manager, you will –
- Conduct field based environmental monitoring of surface and groundwater systems
- Collect, analyse, and report streamflow and water quality data
- Install and maintain hydrometric stations and instrumentation
- Perform site surveys, discharge measurements, and cross-sectional profiling using ADV’s and ADCP’s
- Manage data using platform such HYDSTRA, ESDAT and Campbells
- Ensure compliance with OH&S protocols and maintain high data quality standards
- Coordinate with laboratories and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
Required Skills and Experience
- Experienced in groundwater / surface water monitoring
- Enrolled in or completed a Diploma in Water Operations or Bachelor of Environmental Science (or similar)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with hydrological software
- Skilled in using SDI-12 and 4-20mA instrumentation
- A strong communicator with excellent time management and self-motivation
- Willing to travel including overnight stays
- Certified in First Aid and CPR
- White / Red Card desirable
- Current drivers licence (4x4 driving certification and experience – desirable)
