This is an exciting opportunity for an experience and commercially minded Finance Manager to lead financial performance, reporting, forecasting, and business partnering activities across one of the Gold Coast's most significant infrastructure service partnerships, delivering critical asset lifecycle services to the City of Gold Coast's Water and Waste operations through a collaborative joint venture between Ventia and Downer. About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Finance Partner, you will oversee all financial performance and analysis activities for the Gold Coast Infrastructure Solutions contract portfolio. You will partner closely with operational leaders, project stakeholders, and senior management to provide financial insights that enhance business performance and deliver value for clients and shareholders
Leading a team of accountants and finance professionals, you will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the ongoing success of a complex operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial reporting, month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, cost accruals, and revenue recognition
- Monitor and optimise performance against revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital targets
- Prepare insightful financial and operational reporting, including variance analysis, KPI reporting, and Power BI dashboards
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
- Participate in contract performance reviews and provide commercial insights, risk analysis, and improvement recommendations
- Partner with operational teams and client stakeholders to support business outcomes
- Drive process improvements across finance, payroll, procurement, and reporting functions
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals
- Foster strong relationships across finance, project, and operational teams
Required Skills and Experience
You are a proactive finance leader with strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You enjoy working in complex environments where you can combine technical expertise with strategic business partnering.
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Commercial Finance, FP&A, or Business Partnering role
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills
- Experience managing and interpreting large, complex datasets
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- A collaborative leadership style with demonstrated experience developing teams
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems knowledge
- SAP experience highly regarded (S4 Hana)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification
