About the Role
Ventia, in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force, welcomes enthusiastic Chefs who are passionate about delivering exceptional food and outstanding customer service. Join our vibrant team and contribute to daily kitchen operations.
Based in Albury Wodonga Military Area, you’ll be responsible for managing a section, leading junior staff, crafting high-quality meals and catering for events, all while upholding the highest culinary standards for the Defence base.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Supporting the Head Chef with daily mess operations and food service
- Food preparation of high-quality meals and catering for events
- Operating large volume cooking equipment
- Clean, sanitise and maintain the equipment and premises
- Support and participate in the implementation and management of Ventia’s Food Safety Program
- Support stock management initiatives, including stock rotation and restocking consumables.
About You
- Certificate III (or higher) in Commercial Cookery (Australian recognised)
- Current Australian Drivers Licence (Required)
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation and statutory obligations
- Previous experience in a similar commercial hospitality role
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team.
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police.
