Ventia is on the lookout for a seasoned Mechanical Tradesperson to step into the role of Equipment Specialist within our Coke Plant 1 Asset Team at BlueScope’s iconic Port Kembla Steelworks. What’s in it for you?
You’ll be the go-to person for asset condition monitoring, maintenance planning, and technical advice. Think of yourself as the guardian of equipment longevity—because when the plant runs smoothly, everyone wins.
Your toolkit should include:
- Mechanical Trade Qualification (Cert III Mechanical Engineering).
- Diploma of Engineering (or a commitment to start ASAP).
- Solid industry experience and a knack for problem-solving.
- White Card, NSW Driver’s Licence, and strong computer literacy.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to work both independently and in a multi-skilled team.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Monitor and report asset conditions like a pro.
- Support scheduling for routine maintenance, shutdowns, and breakdowns.
- Create work orders in SAP and keep maintenance history sharp.
- Roll up your sleeves for hands-on tasks when needed.
- Drive improvements and participate in root cause analysis.
