About the Role
Ventia is seeking an Estate Appraisal Assessor to support our Property & Asset Services team.
This role plays a critical part in planning, coordinating, and delivering estate appraisal activities across Defence sites. You will ensure asset condition accuracy, maintain data integrity, and prepare work recommendations that support the Defence Estate Works Program.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Manage and deliver physical appraisal schedules, inspections, and other Defence‑required technical inputs.
- Conduct QA checks, develop recommendations for works, and ensure accuracy of Defence asset data.
- Prepare and update cost estimates, material pricing, and supporting costings for appraisal outcomes and project recommendations.
- Manage appraisal work orders and provide regular operational reporting.
- Coordinate site access, maintain strong relationships with Defence and internal stakeholders, and clearly communicate appraisal findings.
- Adhere to SHEQ requirements, promote safe work practices, and address safety non‑conformities.
- Work collaboratively with technical teams, contribute to continuous improvement, and support a positive team culture.
About You
- Experience in estate appraisal, asset assessment, or similar technical disciplines. (Defence experience desirable).
- Strong knowledge of asset management and estate appraisal principles.
- Competence in pricing, estimation, and material costing for asset related works.
- Proficiency in SAP, MS Word, and Excel.
- Tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline (desirable).
- Ability to interpret technical information and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail, organisation, and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work independently in complex environments.
You must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. Therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.
