Boilermaker – Special Class
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Boilermaker – Special Class to join our team in Port Hedland. This role will suit a safety-focused tradesperson with strong fabrication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic contracting environment.
About the Role
As a Boilermaker – Special Class, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality welding and fabrication services while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual requirements and client expectations.
Pay Rate: $49.82 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions aligned with best practice and client outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and other contractors to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures at all times.
- Report all incidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the Execution Lead.
- Participate in regular safety audits and inspections.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with SHEQ rules and regulations.
Key Skills & Experience
- Mechanical Trade Qualification – Cert III or higher (minimum requirement).
- Demonstrated experience performing welding and fabrication to AS 1554.4-2004 (High Strength Quenched & Tempered Steels).
- International Welding Technologist Certification (highly regarded).
- Strong demonstrated experience working with Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminium.
- Proficient in MMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret Isometric and Structural fabrication drawings.
- Able to pass welding qualifications using all welding processes in all positions.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Qualifications as a Nace 2 Coating Inspector
