About the role
Our Infrastructure Services division at Ventia are seeking experienced Field Gas Workers for a permanent full-time position located out of our Dandenong site.
The successful applicant will be responsible for field-based activities, including performance in safety, quality, environment, cultural heritage, also in assisting in general on-site tasks and setting up of machinery.
You’ll be responsible for several key activities including:
- Perform gas main laying / service laying
- Operate mobile plant and equipment for field operations
- Inspect plant and equipment operation for safe completion of the work orders
- Hold a thorough understanding of plant operating principles and practices
- Assist crew leader in general labouring and general housekeeping
- General driving and use of handheld equipment and tools
- Ensure daily safety checks of plant and equipment
- Ensure all routine maintenance and calibration works on plant and equipment
- Ensure the quality of tasks performed are of a high standard and meet company and client policy and procedures.
About you
To be successful in your application, you will have experience working in the field as a gas worker accompanied by:
- Competent in detection of underground services and the reading / interpretation of underground plans
- Construction Induction card / White Card
- Apply First Aid or willing to obtain
- Verification of Competency certificate for the equipment being operated
- Willing to complete a medical and probity checks
- Completed relevant APA inductions relevant for gas field operations
All Field workers will be required to undertake National Police Check and Medicals.
