About the role
Ventia is seeking an experienced Driver to join our team on a casual basis. The duration is approx. 3 months, from mid-June till the end of August 2026.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Safely drive Defence personnel to and from allocated Defence bases (Mostly between Howard Springs and RAAF Darwin)
- Managing and marshalling buses entering and exiting the pickup loop
- Coordinating the orderly movement of buses and traffic within the pickup area
- Ensuring personnel are directed to and boarded on the correct bus
- Acting as the primary point of contact for shuttle bus and transport operations
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance including cleaning, inspections, basic fault finding, minor repairs, and tyre/wheel changes
- Complete basic paperwork and filing tasks related to transport operations
About you
- Experience as a Driver and operating a bus
- A valid MR license, and H endorsement.
- Skilled in route planning and navigation, including the use of GPS and maps
- Personable, with good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work safely, follow procedures, look out for your team, and report incidents or hazards without delay
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.
