Based in remote mobile camps across Queensland, this role supports crews by delivering high-quality meals and maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role responsible for running the kitchen end-to-end and contributing to overall camp standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality meals across all services
- Manage full kitchen operations including prep, cooking, cleaning, and stock control
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Support menu planning and inventory management
- Maintain clean, organised, and audit-ready kitchen environments
- Provide a consistent, positive dining experience
- Assist with general camp duties as required (cleaning, laundry, logistics)
About You
A confident and self-sufficient chef who takes pride in quality, consistency, and service, with the ability to thrive in a remote environment.
Experience and skills:
- Commercial Cookery qualification
- Minimum 2 years in a high-volume or commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety and compliance requirements
- Manual driver’s licence (essential)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
- Team-focused with a customer-first mindset
Requirements:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- National Police Check
- First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
