About the Projects
Ventia’s Energy Networks and Renewables teams are supporting Powerlink in delivering critical grid connection infrastructure, helping generate enough clean energy to power more than 85,000 Queensland homes.
As part of this, the Boulder Creek Wind Farm—a 38-turbine, 228MW onshore development located approximately 40km southwest of Rockhampton—will be connected to the network through a newly designed and constructed 275kV switching station. This infrastructure will enable the efficient transfer of renewable energy into the Queensland transmission network.
In addition, at the Brigalow Gas Power Station in Chinchilla, Ventia is delivering the construction of a 275/33kV substation and approximately 2km of 275kV transmission line, further strengthening the region’s energy infrastructure and connectivity.
Ventia also provides specialised installation and maintenance services for overhead distribution networks on behalf of Energy Queensland all over South-East QLD. This includes the construction, refurbishment, inspection, and ongoing maintenance of overhead assets, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical electrical infrastructure across the network.
