About the role
The Telco Electrician will report directly to the WA Electrical supervisor. The successful applicant will be assisting with electrical construction projects, new build installations, augmentations of existing infrastructure, electrical maintenance activities and fault response on a range of electrical apparatus within telco client infrastructure across Western Australia.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist onsite construction projects within telecommunications environments.
- Install, test and commission LV, ELV, AC, DC electrical site works, along with generators and solar systems
- Deliver DC power plant installations, battery lifecycle replacements, and critical superstructure/frame suite builds
- Perform testing and commissioning in accordance with Australian standards to ensure operational compliance
- Maintain safety and compliance through daily documentation, risk assessments, and adherence to critical risk protocols
- Support project delivery through team collaboration, mentoring apprentices, and frequent metro/regional travel

About you:
- Hold relevant licences including WA Electrical Licence, Open Cabler Licence, and current Driver Licence
- Demonstrate proven experience in telecommunications environments (e.g. Telstra, Optus, TPG)
- Competent in testing and commissioning electrical and communications installations
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills,
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of working autonomously
- Physically capable (lifting up to 25kg) and willing to travel regularly to regional areas
The following qualifications and experience are not essential but will be highly regarded in the selection process:
- Emergency First Aid / CPR
- Low voltage Release and Rescue
- Working at heights
- Elevated work platform license
- Forklift license
- LR, MR and HR license
