We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Telstra Facilities Management Major Works team. This newly created role has been established to support our growing project portfolio and provide a development pathway for an engineer looking to progress into a future Major Works Manager position.
Working alongside experienced project leaders, you'll gain exposure to a diverse range of electrical, mechanical and fire services projects across Telstra's national property portfolio, with project values up to $8M.
About the Role
Reporting to the Work Planning & Optimisation Manager, you will support the delivery of critical building infrastructure projects from planning through to completion. Initially, you'll assist in managing a portfolio of approximately 20-25 active projects, with opportunities to progressively take on greater project ownership as your capability develops.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of electrical, mechanical and fire services projects
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling, reporting and cost management
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders
- Conducting site visits and monitoring project progress
- Managing project documentation, compliance and safety requirements
- Building strong relationships with clients and internal operational teams
About You
We're looking for someone who is ready to grow their project management capability and take advantage of a structured development opportunity.
You will bring:
- A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- An interest in project delivery within facilities, building services or infrastructure environments
This opportunity would suit a recent graduate through to an early-career engineer, or an existing Ventia employee looking to broaden their experience and progress into a project management career pathway.
