About the Role
This role is ideal for a confident HSE Advisor who enjoys being visible in the field, coaching teams, leading investigations and ensuring all phases of project delivery are planned and executed safely.
Key responsibilities include –
- Reviewing and assessing project safety plans, SWMS and construction methodologies prior to work commencing
- Leading audits, inspections and assurance activities to ensure compliance with legislative and contractual requirements
- Managing site safety risks particularly those associated with excavation, electrical installations, contamination, confined spaces and elevated work platforms
- Facilitating toolbox talks, safety meetings and workforce engagement activities
- Leading incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions
- Monitoring SHEQ performance data and providing reporting and recommendations to project leadership
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors and supporting contractor compliance across the project lifecycle
- Assist with training, competency and compliance (including VOCs) for workforce and identifying development initiatives
About You
Ideally you will come from a construction, civil, water industry or field-based background with sound experience managing subcontractors.
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety or equivalent qualification
- Current drivers licence and construction white card
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and management systems
- Experience leading incident investigations and assurance activities
- Ability to analyse data and identify actionable risk management strategies
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
- Strong organisational, planning and reporting capability
- Demonstrated ability to influence operational teams and drive positive safety outcomes
- Plant construction and ICAM training highly desirable
