The opportunity
Ventia has exciting opportunities for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our team supporting the United States Marine Corps (USMC) at Robertson Barracks, NT.
Working within a unique Defence environment, you'll perform preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs across a diverse fleet of military assets, including Light Tactical Vehicles, Humvees and other specialised equipment. As an Australian Defence Force partner, Ventia supports both ADF and allied forces, offering the opportunity to broaden your skills while working alongside experienced trades professionals.

This full-time position offers a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Conduct inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance on military vehicles, trailers and associated equipment.
- Complete Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and Limited Technical Inspections (LTIs) in accordance with technical manuals and maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs, adjustments and component replacements to maintain fleet readiness.
- Carry out fluid checks, lubrication, battery maintenance and operational testing of vehicle systems and components.
- Conduct mechanical, electrical and safety inspections to identify defects and maintain operational readiness.
- Ensure equipment meets maintenance, modification and compliance requirements.
- Adhere to all Defence, safety, quality and contract-specific requirements.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
- Practical experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing light, medium and/or heavy vehicles.
- MR, HR or HC Licence highly regarded.
- Ability to work autonomously with a high level of attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and maintaining safe work practices.
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
