About the role
As a Cook, you will be assisting the Head Chef and kitchen team to prepare and serve meals for Defence personnel. This job makes sure the kitchen runs safely and smoothly, keeps food safe, and helps create a clean and friendly dining space.
Based in Albury Wodonga Military Areas, some key duties and repsonsibilites include:
- Prepare meals for regular dining, field operations, and in-flight rations
- Maintain food safety & hygiene standards
- Guide Kitchen Hands and Utilities staff
- Assist with emergency meal setups when required
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and safe kitchen environment
About you
- Cert II Commercial Cookery qualification (Australian-recognised)
- HACCP Level 2 certification
- 2+ years’ experience in large commercial kitchen environments
- Strong organisational skills and adaptability
- Professional, enthusiastic, and aligned with Ventia’s values
- Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police
