About the Role
Ventia are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to support ongoing projects within our Infrastructure Services Water & Environmental Business to be preferably based at our Melbourne, Brisbane or Toowoomba offices/sites.
This role will see you support the Contract and Project Managers, providing commercial support and guidance to the delivery teams across various contracts / projects within the Water & Environmental Business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain key working relationships with the Ventia Site Teams and support functions, as well as Client Teams.
- Identification, implementation and maintenance of project control structures, contracting strategies, execution plans and Ventia procedures.
- Manage, co-ordinate and perform the contract administration responsibilities for the project(s).
- Support project procurement requirements.
- Manage and monitor contract securities and insurances, provide effective and timely change control / variation, delay, EOT and claim notifications to resolution under head contracts.
- Support delivery of financial and contractual information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide project health checks and advise the Commercial Manager of any potential risks and or opportunities to project targets, including associated mitigation measures.
- Undertake contract reviews for new tenders to ensure they are in accordance with Ventia’s acceptable risk position.
- Conduct negotiations with clients and subcontractors, facilitating internal governance processes, documentation, execution and controls.
- Ensure productivity measures (KPI’s) are regularly reported, analyse variances and implement corrective actions.
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities in processes or systems.
About You
- You will have extensive experience as a Contracts Administrator ideally within the Water industry.
- Degree in business, commerce, law or other discipline highly desirable
- A demonstrated problem solver with the ability to see a problem and proactively implement processes to solve the problem.
- High level of personal resilience and persistence, with a “can do” and team focused approach.
- Ability to understand, draft and negotiate contracts.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills, the ability to establish effective and manage multiple working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demand.
- Proven interpersonal and relationship skills within complex and demanding environments.
- Strong ability to be adaptable and work across multiple priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
