About the role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll provide cost planning, estimation, and financial oversight to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and in line with Defence standards.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Cost Estimation and Planning: Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for maintenance and minor works projects across Defence estate assets.
- Contract Administration: Support contract reviews, variations, and progress claims in alignment with Defence and Estate Upkeep contract requirements.
- Financial Reporting: Monitor project expenditure and provide regular cost reports to ensure financial transparency and control.
- Tender Evaluation: Assist in the review and evaluation of contractor pricing and submissions for estate works.
- Data and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cost data, project scope changes, and financial documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site teams, and Defence representatives to ensure cost-effective delivery of services.
- Risk and Value Management: Identify cost risks and opportunities, contributing to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant standards, policies, and Defence contract obligations.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience in cost planning, estimation, and financial management within infrastructure or facilities projects
- Strong understanding of contract administration and procurement processes
- Proficiency in cost management tools and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary team
