Ventia have casual opportunities for a Catering Administrator and a Catering Rostering Co-ordinator for the upcoming US Marine rotation in Darwin. As part of the Hospitality team, you will be required to provide administrative support and organise and monitor a rostering system which encompasses 5 busy messes, delivering daily catering services to Defence members. The 2 exciting opportunities are as follows.
Catering Administrator - working Monday to Friday 8 am – 4 pm
Catering Rostering Co-ordinator - working Monday to Friday: 6 am – 2 pm
Positions commence February 9th 2026, offering $36 per hour

What you will be doing
- Ensure Hospitality & Catering, across all sites, are adequately staffed by analysing and understanding the make-up of the current workforce
- Back filling vacancies on rosters
- Coordinate communication and maintain accurate records for internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee general office tasks, including filing, photocopying, faxing, mail distribution, and maintaining phone lists.
- Prepare quotes for function requests, including detailed breakdowns of food and labour costs.
- Actioning roster changes for BOH & FOH staff members
- Assisting Supervisors with staffing issues
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication
- Computer literacy in the MS Office suite (Word, XL, PowerPoint, Access, Project
- Administrative experience, preferably in hospitality, catering, or a similar operational environment.
- Knowledge of Hospitality and Catering service delivery is preferred but not essential
- The ability to learn online rostering systems
- Must have a valid Drivers license and transport to base
These positions require you to pass an Australian Federal Police check
